Free Bus Ride from Binghamton Area to DRBC Hearings in Liberty, NY on Feb 22 for Pro-Gas Supporters

| | |

MDN received the following email from the Joint Landowner Coalition of New York, offering free bus rides to the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) hearings scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 22 in Liberty, NY. Pickup locations include Binghamton, Windsor and Deposit, NY. The hearings are to accept public comments on the DRBC’s draft regulations that will govern drilling in the Marcellus Shale within DRBC-controlled areas. The DRBC adds an extra layer of regulation for drilling within watershed areas as part of it’s charter to protect water supplies. As Dan Fitzsimmons points out, it’s important for those who support drilling to make their voices heard at the DRBC hearings.

Dear Natural Gas Supporters Everywhere,

Please distribute this reminder to all Pro-Gas Supporters and ask them to be there. This is another event that we need as many pro-gas supporters as possible to attend.

Please do not dismiss these three events as unimportant just because they seem far away in the Delaware River Basin. The anti-gas forces will be bringing protestors to these events from far and wide (places like Philadelphia, New York City, Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and upstate NY to name a few) to try to stop gas development in the Delaware River Basin first so they can roll on along to other areas, like yours!

The anti-gas forces are counting on pro-gas supporters outside of the Delaware River Basin underestimating the importance of these hearings and the number of outside protestors they will have at the events so that they can “Divide and Conquer” us. They are counting on pro-gas supporters from one area not showing up at events in other areas. They are counting on us to not show a strong and united solidarity with all gas supporters in all areas.

It is vitally important that they do not stop gas development efforts in the Delaware River Basin. Your area could be next if they do!

Please make every effort to support a strong pro-gas showing at this event.

Sincerely,
Dan Fitzsimmons, President
Joint Landowners Coalition of New York, Inc.
