Dallas Township, PA Supervisors to Present Local Ordinance for Drilling in the Marcellus Shale

Supervisors of Dallas Township (Luzerne County), PA are tentatively planning to present a natural gas drilling ordinance at their April 5th meeting according to Township Solicitor Thomas Brennan.

Brennan said the township is going to use an ordinance that has been researched, reviewed and recommended by the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors, and he hopes to present the ordinance to the supervisors by the April 5 meeting.*

The model ordinance from PSATS (available for download below) provides for a range of rules that drilling companies must comply with, including noise, light, safety, structure height, etc.
