Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Launches New Website Dedicated to Drilling in the Marcellus Shale

|

Pittsburgh is located in the middle of some of the most active drilling in the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania. Many drilling and other related companies have located either branch or even headquarters offices in the Pittsburgh area, making it the defacto capital of drilling in the Marcellus Shale. So plenty of news comes out of Western PA to do with drilling in the Marcellus.

There’s so much news about Marcellus Shale drilling that the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has just launched a new “vertical” website dedicated to it. The new site pulls recent stories they’ve run in the newspaper, along with some neat interactive features, like a map showing where drilling permits have been issued in the greater Pittsburgh area by county and local municipality. This new site by the Post-Gazette will be worth bookmarking and reviewing from time to time.

Here’s the site’s web address: //shale.sites.post-gazette.com/.

NOTE: Marcellus Drilling News is close to releasing a new report showing how many permits have been issued in Pennsylvania and other Marcellus Shale states by county and by local municipality—along with the names of the drilling companies (and number of permits by drilling company). Stay tuned for how to get a copy.
