The producers of the OilComm Conference and Exposition, formerly Offshore Communications, in Houston, TX will launch the ShaleComm Conference at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in Pittsburgh, PA. Taking place April 10 – 11, 2012, ShaleComm will focus exclusively on the communications challenges faced by the drilling community at shale plays around the country.
As drilling technology advances, shale development and exploration will increase in popularity yet the communications infrastructures to the remote and rural areas remains minimal or non-existent, creating challenges for the companies operating at the shale plays. ShaleComm will bring together the entire shale drilling community to discuss the communications challenges and explore viable solutions.
“There is a need in the shale drilling community for an event where professionals can discuss their communications challenges and collaborate with others on what solutions they have at their disposal,” said Jenn Heinold, Show Director for ShaleComm. “We are utilizing the expertise and relationships we have built at OilComm to bring together subject matter experts and communications providers to collaborate with the shale drilling community on the challenges they are facing – no infrastructure and rapidly deployed drill sites in unfamiliar landscapes.”

ShaleComm will also feature numerous networking opportunities, including a keynote address, luncheons each day, and a Networking Reception the evening of Tuesday, April 10.
