A public hearing will be held on February 28, 2012, at 6:30 p.m., in the Cass Township Municipal Building, 1209 Valley Road, Pottsville, Pennsylvania. The purpose of this public hearing shall be to entertain a proposed Zoning Ordinance for Cass Township and to consider amendments to the existing Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (hereinafter "SALDO") and to accept public comments thereon. The amendments to the SALDO include the following: 1. Change the format to conform with the Cass Code and incorporate the SALDO into the Cass Code. 2. Update Development Agreements required by the SALDO. 3. Add appendices to include the Development Agreements and Resolutions related to the SALDO. 4. Add indemnification language and requirements for land developers concerning storm water management. 5. Amend the Penalties section of the SALDO to be consistent with the Cass Code. 6. Add provisions to the SALDO concerning oil and natural gas development and the subdivision or land development of lots for oil and natural gas development. These provisions include, but are not limited to, land development application and requirements, definitions and design standards. 7. Add provisions concerning wind and solar energy development. A copy of the proposed Zoning Ordinance is available for inspection by any citizen at the Cass Township Municipal Building located at 1209 Valley Road, Cass Township, Pennsylvania, Monday through Thursday between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.; the Schuylkill County Law Library, Schuylkill County Courthouse, 401 North Second Street, Pottsville, Pennsylvania, on any Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.; and the Pottsville Republican & Evening Herald, 111 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville, Pennsylvania, on any Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., prevailing time. Persons with disabilities may request auxiliary aids and services by calling the Township offices, as applicable, within 48 hours of the hearing or meeting.
