The Board of Supervisors of Spring Township will hold a hearing to take public comment on proposed Ordinance No. 2012-03 entitled AN ORDINANCE OF SPRING TOWNSHIP, PERRY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, TO PROVIDE FOR THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF SPRING TOWNSHIP THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REASONABLE REGULATION PROVISIONS UNDER THE MPC AND FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT PROVISIONS UNDER THE FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT ACT AND TO PERMIT THE REASONABLE DEVELOPMENT OF OIL AND GAS RESOURCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACT 13, during their regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting at 7:15 p.m. on July 2, 2012, or any other time which the Public Hearing may be continued by the Board of Supervisors, at the Spring Township Building, 539 Paige Hill Road, Landisburg, PA 17040.
The proposed Ordinance is for the purpose of providing for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Spring Township through the implementation of reasonable regulations as allowed by the MPC, for floodplain management under the Floodplain Management Act and to allow reasonable development of oil and gas resources in accordance with Act 13. At the conclusion of the public comment scheduled at the regularly scheduled Board of Supervisors meeting at 7:15 p.m. on July 2, 2012, or any other time to which the public hearing is continued by the Board of Supervisors, the Spring Township Board of Supervisors will consider passage of proposed Ordinance No. 2012-03, entitled AN ORDINANCE OF SPRING TOWNSHIP, PERRY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, TO PROVIDE FOR THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE RESIDENTS OF SPRING TOWNSHIP THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REASONABLE REGULATION PROVISIONS UNDER THE MPC AND FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT PROVISIONS UNDER THE FLOODPLAIN MANAGEMENT ACT AND TO PERMIT THE REASONABLE DEVELOPMENT OF OIL AND GAS RESOURCES IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACT 13. This Ordinance is for the purpose of providing for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Spring Township through the implementation of reasonable regulations as allowed by the MPC, for floodplain management under the Floodplain Management Act and to allow reasonable development of oil and gas resources in accordance with Act 13, together with definitions, a severability clause and effective date.
A copy of the proposed Ordinance as drafted may be examined without charge or obtained for a charge not greater than the cost thereof at the Spring Township Building, 539 Paige Hill Road, Landisburg, PA 17040, during regularly scheduled business hours. In addition, the Ordinance has been provided to the Perry County Times newspaper and the Perry County Times newspaper is in possession of a complete copy of the Ordinance. Interested citizens are invited to attend the above-referenced meeting of Spring Township.
