CNX Introduces First NextGen E-Drilling Tech to M-U Basin

In April, CNX Resources announced it had signed a contract extension with Evolution Well Services to use Evolution’s 100% natural gas-fueled electric pressure pumping equipment for another four years (see CNX Extends E-Fracking Contract with Evolution Another 4 Years). CNX uses electric fracking equipment, with the electricity generated by burning natural gas instead of burning dirtier diesel. Most people call it e-fracking. Yesterday the company announced a deal to begin using the Marcellus/Utica's very first electric-powered drilling system fueled entirely by on-site natural gas. We call it e-drilling. There is a difference between e-drilling and e-fracking.
