“Father of the Marcellus Shale” Sees Untapped Potential in M-U

Bill Zagorski
William ("Bill") Zagorski, geologist and musician, is credited as being the “Father of the Marcellus Shale.” It’s an interesting story how he convinced Range Resources to try drilling in the Marcellus using hydraulic fracturing (see William Zagorski, “Father of the Marcellus Shale”). He was the first to recognize the promise of the Marcellus, and now, he's back to say there's even more potential that can be unlocked in the Marcellus/Utica region. He thinks there are areas outside of the existing "core" acreage that were "prematurely abandoned" and should be revisited. We like the sound of that.
