Evaluating the Social & Governance Parts of ESG in O&G Companies
As we've pointed out in recent posts, we now hear the phrase ESG (environmental, social, governance) uttered just about every other sentence by oil and gas companies, including those in the Marcellus/Utica (see our ESG stories here). We're approaching the point where we'll puke if we hear much more about ESG. The problem, from our perspective, is that the term itself is nebulous. Anyone can define ESG any way they want. What does ESG really mean? Most of the stories we've tackled focus on the E, or environmental, part of that term. Today we turn to the S & G parts of the term.
