DUG East Coming to Pittsburgh June 20-22

If you’re deeply involved, or even peripherally involved, with the Marcellus/Utica, there are two events each year that you should attend. One of those events is DUG East (hosted by Hart Energy), and the other is Shale Insight (hosted by the Marcellus Shale Coalition). DUG East will be held next week in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately MDN will not be able to attend this year (we did last year). But we have reviewed the agenda and we can highly recommend next week’s event. Next week you will find out what’s working, what’s not and what’s next for upstream producers and midstream operators in the Marcellus and Utica–the biggest natural gas-producing region in the United States…

Below is a press release issued by Hart Energy about the event, which contains a good overview. Please note: MDN has not been paid or compensated in any way to promote next week’s event. We are happy to do so because we love this industry and we believe in the importance and value of this event.

From Hart Energy:

With bigger wells and more pipeline capacity, activity is picking up in the Marcellus and Utica shale plays, shining a light on the regions’ exceptionalism and prospects for serious growth. Speakers at DUG East discuss these trends in North America’s top natural gas-producing stars. Executives from leading producers, including Antero Resources, Occidental, Rice Energy, and Consol Energy, will join top industry experts targeted presentations at the DUG East conference and exhibition in Pittsburgh, June 20-22.

More than 20 executive-level speakers, over 1,000 industry professionals and 100+ exhibitors will gather in the David L. Lawrence Convention Center this June. They will gain the latest updates on midstream infrastructure, hear forecasts from the industry’s best and visit exhibits from top technology providers.

According to Bloomberg’s recent article, U.S. Shale Investment Is Back on the Upswing, over $7.25 billion in deals were completed in the Marcellus in 2016, including 13 individual deals that surpassed $100 million each. Increased M&A activity means more efficiency, more output and lower prices in the Appalachian regions. This year’s Technology Showcase brings the latest advancements in completions, proppant, and water management technologies with case study examples from leading companies.

“The Appalachian plays are in the limelight of activity as producers have mastered efficient production strategies and are expanding to maximize profitability,” Leslie Haines, conference host and executive editor-at-large for Oil and Gas Investor said. “The keynote presentations at this year’s DUG East conference will give insights to recent successes and forward-looking strategies, offering valuable market intelligence to all who attend.”

This year’s DUG East conference is packed with keynote presentations, panels, spotlights and more, led by a series of featured speakers, including:

  • Benjamin Hulburt, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Eclipse Resources
  • Tony Duran, Chief Information Officer, Rice Energy Inc.
  • Diana M. Duran, Geological Advisor, Occidental Petroleum Corporation
  • Rodney Gray, CEO, Inflection Energy LLC
