According to the Tampa Bay Times, Duke Energy has “quietly” been building a new $1.5 billion natural gas-fired electric generating plant in Citrus County, FL. The project has 2,000 workers busy building it. When done, it will be Duke’s largest combined cycle gas-fired plant, generating a whopping 1,640 megawatts–enough electricity to power roughly 1.3 million homes.
