Steel Nation Expands, Adds 3 New Team Members in SWPA

It’s not all doom and gloom in the Marcellus/Utica sector. Although there have been plenty of layoffs and announcements of budget cuts and less drilling, at least one company in our space is expanding–sensing new opportunity. That company, we are proud to say, is MDN’s premier sponsor for 2020: Steel Nation. Although Steel Nation builds steel buildings used throughout our industry, it does far more. Steel Nation also offers engineering, environmental and facility services. Unlike other companies currently trimming back, Steel Nation is expanding! The company has just added three new key members to its top-flight team.

Steel Nation has started 2020 with three (3) essential members to fill newly created positions under their Steel Nation Buildings and Steel Nation Facility Services divisions:

Billy Hinton – Director, Business Development

With two decades of experience in commercial, industrial and oil & gas construction, Billy Hinton will concentrate on national accounts in the designbuild of Steel Nation Buildings, as well as Steel Nation Engineering, Steel Nation Facility Services and Steel Nation Environmental divisions. Hinton was previously with J.T. Thorpe & Son. Mr. Hinton is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, OH, and has been successfully involved with the Pittsburgh Committees of NAIOP, Associated Builders & Contractors, Pittsburgh Technical College and other organizations.

Eric Corey – Northeast Regional Manager

Eric Corey joins Steel Nation with over 20+ years as Construction Manager & Chief Inspector within the Oil & Gas sector, most recently with Williams, Access Midstream and Chesapeake Energy. Mr. Corey will represent all four (4) Steel Nation division: Steel Nation Buildings, Steel Nation Engineering, Steel Nation Facility Services & Steel Nation Environmental. Mr. Corey is a U.S. Navy Engineering Vet, a graduate of the National Welding School and a Certified Inspector in the Oil & Gas sector.

David Hartzell – Facility Services Superintendent

David Hartzell joins Steel Nation’s Facility Services division with over 30 years in the commercial and industrial construction industry, specializing in steel buildings, concrete and sound attenuation within the Oil & Gas sector. In his early career, Mr. Hartzell was a Sheet Metal Workers Union #33 member, and in the past eight years worked for Absolute Noise Control and Principal Energy Services specializing in sound wall and sound enclosures in the Marcellus/ Utica Energy sectors. Dave is OSHA 10 certified and has all fork and man lift certifications.

Steel Nation President, Mark Caskey, welcomes Billy, Eric and Dave to Steel Nation, “These additional investments in our organization continue our strategy to grow both inside and out of our core markets. Fulfilling our client’s needs to be more productive and efficient, while maintaining our outstanding safety record drives Steel Nation on a daily basis.”*
