Media Hypes “Largest Oil Supply Disruption in History” from Iran War

|
The military conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran threatens the global economy by risking the largest oil supply disruption in history. So say analysts and experts. Centered on the Strait of Hormuz, where tanker traffic has already plummeted, the war could halt up to 15 million barrels per day. S&P Global warns this would shift the market from a projected surplus to a severe deficit, potentially driving prices above $130 per barrel if hostilities persist. (Frankly, we don't believe that will happen.) While analysts hope for a short-lived campaign, any prolonged disruption of this vital corridor would trigger "epochal" financial shocks, fundamentally destabilizing global energy markets and infrastructure. So say the experts.
