BKV Finds Success Outside of PA Marcellus Drilling…in Texas

| | | | |
BKV originally entered the American shale sector by investing $500 million in 2016-2017 to buy existing Marcellus wells and acreage in northeast Pennsylvania. The company later expanded into the Texas Barnett shale play, buying the assets that once belonged to THE original fracker, the guy who figured out how to combine fracking with horizontal drilling, George Mitchell (see Banpu Expands Again – Buys Exxon’s Texas Barnett Assets). Today, the company owns more acreage in the Barnett than in the Marcellus. It also owns other key non-shale assets.
