Trump Admin Moves To Repeal Burdensome NEPA Rules – Explainer

During President Trump's first term, he tried to change (tweak) the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) to strip away some of the governmental red tape that has built up over the years, like plaque in an artery, preventing important infrastructure projects like pipelines, dams, bridges, and roads from getting built (see Trump Admin Releases Updates to National Environmental Policy Act). While helpful, ultimately, those tweaks did not last, nor did they resolve issues around regulatory delays and litigation stifling infrastructure projects. Trump II is a different story. The new administration is taking aim at the root of the NEPA tree this time around.
