Shale Insight: Feds Promise Faster Permits, Reform on “2-Yard Line”

Washington came to Erie last week with one message for Shale Insight attendees: help is on the way re permitting reform. Deputy Energy Secretary James Danly, FERC and PHMSA officials, and the heads of the national upstream and pipeline trade groups all spoke. They described faster federal reviews, new rules, and a comprehensive permitting reform bill that American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC) CEO said is "on the 2-yard line." Speakers repeated one word so often that MSC President Jim Welty called it "the word of the hour": durability.
