New Marcellus Shale Gas Pipeline Coming to Preston County, WV

| | | | |

A new Marcellus Shale gas pipeline is coming to Preston County, WV which will ultimately mean more drilling in the region.

Superior Appalachian Pipeline is breaking ground for a 16-mile natural gas project it says will create hundreds of construction jobs.

Preston County economic development officials and county commissioners are attending the event Tuesday [March 1] in Bruceton Mills.

The company is based in Canonsburg, Pa. It says the area has had limited ability to transport natural gas, and the new pipeline will make that easier.

Superior says its pipeline should speed the development of new wells in Preston County and create more jobs in the gas drilling industry.

ST Pipeline of Clendenin is the contractor for the job. Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel is rolling the pipe.*
