PA Conventional Industry Responds to “Emergency” VOC Regs
For months we've been reporting about the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) and its Environmental Quality Board (EQB) ramming through (in a rush) a regulation to control volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and by extension methane, for conventional drilling sites throughout the state. The state Independent Regulatory Review Commission (IRRC) recently voted to approve the last-minute regulation (see PA IRRC Votes to Approve Rushed Conventional VOC Regulation). Tomorrow the EQB will meet in "emergency" session for a final vote to adopt the onerous new regulation. The three trade associations that represent PA's conventional drillers responded yesterday with a joint letter (read it below) to the EQB outlining their opposition to this last-minute, rushed regulation.
