Freeport’s Rocky Road to Full LNG Restart – Feedgas Deliveries @ 50%

| |
We have been closely tracking the restart of the shuttered Freeport LNG export terminal following its emergency shutdown in June 2022 after an explosion and fire. Earlier this month, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granted permission for the final pieces of the facility to return to full service (see FERC Grants OK to Restart Freeport LNG Final Liquefaction Train). However, the restart has been plagued with issues--to the point that cargo ships lined up to accept Freeport LNG were canceled (see Hiccups with Freeport LNG Restart Cause Cancellation of 4 LNG Ships). S&P has data showing feedgas flowing to the plant for several days last week averaged just over 1 Bcf/d (billion cubic feet per day).
