Trump Turns Up the Heat on Gov. Hochul to Approve NESE, Constitution

| | | |
Following some intense conversations between President Trump and New York Governor Kathy Hochul earlier this year, she caved (according to the White House) and agreed to allow two long-stalled pipeline projects—the Constitution and NESE—to get built in NY in return for Trump allowing her to continue to sink $5 billion into an offshore wind project (see Trump Deal Trades NY Offshore Wind for Constitution, NESE Pipes). Since that time, the environmental left has stepped up the pressure on Hochul, attempting to persuade her to change her mind. President Trump is turning up the pressure on his side, too. On Monday, Trump threatened to cancel New York City's congestion pricing if Hochul doesn't approve the NESE and Constitution pipeline projects.
