MDN Short Vacation for 2 Days – Off Tuesday & Wednesday
Marcellus Drilling News doesn’t take a lot of vacation, but we try to take at least a few days in the summer and near the Christmas holiday. MDN will be off for the next two days–Tuesday and Wednesday. We’ll return on Thursday with all the Marcellus/Utica news that’s fit to print!

Every now and again MDN editor Jim Willis emerges from his writing cave in Binghamton, NY to travel. Such is the case this week. Normally you (hopefully) wouldn’t know that Jim is on the road as he does his best to keep the news coming. Today, however, is different. There will be no new stories posted today. MDN is pleased to announce a regular feature on Scranton radio station 94.3 FM “The Talker.” Each Saturday the station airs the Shale Gas News show, co-hosted by MDN friend Bill desRosiers (of Cabot Oil & Gas). Bill recently asked Jim to supply a weekly segment recounting the top stories read on MDN. That is, MDN is becoming the official news source for Shale Gas News! To kick things off, Jim compiled a list of the Top 10 most read stories on MDN for the first six months of 2016. It’s an interesting list, as you’ll see. It may or may not surprise you to learn that 4 of the top 10 stories relate to Shell’s planned ethane cracker plant, a $3 billion+ project that will create thousands of jobs and inject something like $20 billion in the state’s economy. MDN will not publish on Friday, May 26 or Monday, May 30 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. To be honest, it seems like most folks in the o&g industry have already headed out of town for the holiday. The news is scarce right now.
