MDN is not able to post today–please accept our apologies. A friend of the family suddenly and unexpectedly died earlier this week and the funeral is this morning. We pride ourselves on publishing each weekday with very few days off. This is a rare exception. We will be back Monday with all the latest news. MDN had intended to take today (Friday) off in addition to Monday’s Labor Day holiday. Sneaking in a last bit of time off for the summer. And then we spotted the BIG NEWS about the Constitution Pipeline decision from FERC. So we wrote up a post about that. This is truly big (and very good) news! MDN is taking a rare vacation, for two days, on Thursday & Friday, July 11 & 12. We’ll be back on Monday, July 15 to catch you up on all the important news from the Marcellus/Utica, including the latest on EQT following the Rice brothers winning the proxy vote to replace most of EQT’s board of directors. Toby Rice is now President & CEO of EQT. The only two people gone from top management (so far) are former CEO Rob McNally and EQT’s top lawyer Jonathan Lushko.
MDN rarely takes a day off. Today, July 5th, is one of those days.
Programming note: MDN will publish next Monday through Wednesday (July 8-10), but will take off next Thursday and Friday (July 11 -12). However, given EQT’s annual meeting next Wednesday, July 10, we will release a special update on Thursday, July 11, to let you know the outcome of the closely-watched proxy war. Will the “activist” Rice boys wrest control of the board and the company? Or will current management retain control? High drama!
Aside from an EQT update next Thursday, we’ll be relaxing on the beach next Thursday and Friday. 🙂

A quick note to let you know that the Marcellus Drilling News website experienced some problems last Friday following a software upgrade. Those problems–things like pages not loading correctly, potential login issues–are not yet fully resolved. We are working (hard) to get them fixed.
