Range Resources Continues to Create Numerous Jobs in Marcellus Shale Region

Range Resources has grown from one employee in Canonsburg, PA, to 350 employees in Canonsburg at the present time, and with plans to more than double that number again according to Range’s CEO John Pinkerton in comments he made at the recent Marcellus Midstream Conference in Pittsburgh.

When Range Resources Corp. moved into Canonsburg, Pa., in 2007 to evaluate the Marcellus Shale rock formation for natural gas drilling, John Pinkerton sent one employee to run the office.

Now 350 employees work at the Canonsburg office, and the number may top 800 in the next couple of years, as the gas rush continues to expand across West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

"The quality of the wells we are drilling are light years better than we ever imagined. And I think we have just scratched the surface," said Pinkerton, chairman and chief executive officer of Fort Worth, Texas-based Range.*
