EPA Admin. Zeldin Stops in Binghamton to Push for Constitution Pipe

| | | | |
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin visited Binghamton yesterday to advocate for reviving the long-stalled Constitution Pipeline, a proposed 125-mile natural gas project that would run from Susquehanna County in northeastern Pennsylvania through Broome, Chenango, Delaware, and Schoharie counties in New York. The pipeline was first proposed more than a decade ago. Zeldin argued that U.S. energy production is safer than in many other countries and said New York and New England should make greater use of domestic supplies. He also called for overturning New York’s statewide fracking ban, saying natural gas provides economic and environmental benefits and remains the state’s primary energy source.
