
Earlier this week, MDN told you that the Ohio Chamber of Commerce was putting its considerable influence behind a pair of bills making their way through the state legislature: Senate Bill (SB) 2 and House Bill (HB) 15 (see
Ohio Chamber Makes Case to Tap “Trapped” Utica Wells for Powergen). The Chamber is celebrating today. Yesterday, the Ohio Senate passed SB 2 unanimously, 31-0, with both Republicans and Democrats supporting a bill that encourages rapid construction of new power plants (namely gas-fired power plants) by streamlining regulations and distinguishing between power generation and distribution to foster competition.
