On Oct. 22, we told you Enbridge's 122-mile Ridgeline Expansion Project in Tennessee was just about ready to flow (see Ridgeline Nears Startup; Court Shreds Ruling Against TVA Gas Plant). Now it's official. On Oct. 30, FERC staff gave East Tennessee Natural Gas (ETNG), an Enbridge company, written permission to place Ridgeline into service, and the pipeline went into service on Nov. 1. That's right on the target date Enbridge set before construction started on Oct. 21, 2025. Ridgeline can move up to 300,000 dekatherms per day (Dth/d, roughly 300 MMcf/d, or million cubic feet per day) to the Tennessee Valley Authority's (TVA) Kingston site in Roane County. TVA has signed up for every bit of it for the next 20 years.
