alkaLi lithium facility in PA (click for larger version)
Remember the "world's first" lithium-from-frack-water plant near Montrose in Susquehanna County? The one Boston-based Gradiant said would be in full commercial production by early 2026? It just turned up in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, asking DEP for an air permit to add new equipment and accept a much longer list of wastes. What the permit notice does not contain is the word "lithium." Not once. MDN reached out to Gradiant and to the company that runs the site with a handful of questions. We heard precisely nothing back.
