Early yesterday morning, someone (maybe several someones) tried to get into a restricted area of a Williams Transco pipeline facility in Carlstadt, NJ, by going through the sewer system. Williams says the would-be intruders never made it inside and gas kept flowing normally. But the response was anything but routine. The Bergen County Sheriff's bomb squad, a K-9 unit, and crime scene investigators all showed up before dawn. As of this writing, nobody has said who these people are, why they were there, or whether anyone has been charged.
