The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) isn't just writing a check for the Constitution Pipeline anymore — it's writing the sales brochure, too. Last Wednesday, DOE posted a "fact sheet" making the case for the long-stalled 125-mile Williams pipeline, which would carry Marcellus Shale gas from Susquehanna County, PA, to Schoharie County, NY. The fact sheet follows Energy Secretary Chris Wright's Monday visit to New York, where he announced up to $42 million in Defense Production Act (DPA) funding to push the project through permitting (see Uncle Sam Writes $42M Check to Jump-Start Constitution Pipeline). The White House and Gov. Kathy Hochul's office then traded punches in the press. Here's the latest.
