Stonehenge & UGI JV Acquires 3 Appalachian Pipe Gathering Systems

Pine Run Gathering LLC, a joint venture owned by Stonehenge Energy and UGI, announced yesterday that it had completed a transaction to buy Superior Midstream Appalachian, LLC, for $120 million. Superior Appalachian owns and operates three gathering systems in Pennsylvania, namely Pittsburgh Mills (Allegheny & Butler counties), Snow Shoe (Centre County), and Brookfield (Tioga County). The Pittsburgh Mills system is connected to UGI’s Big Pine gathering system. All three have a combined daily flow of approximately 190 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d). Stonehenge Still Active in PA Following Midstream Sale to UGI

A month ago MDN brought you the news that UGI Corporation, one of Pennsylvania’s largest natural gas utility companies, had cut a deal to buy the Stonehenge Appalachia Midstream natural gas gathering system in Butler County, PA, for $190 million (see UGI Buys Stonehenge’s Marcellus Midstream Assets for $190M). The Stonehenge system includes more than 47 miles of pipeline and associated compression assets, and has a gathering capacity of 130 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d). The Stonehenge-to-UGI transaction closed yesterday. However, there is a “rest of the story”…

UGI Buys Stonehenge’s Marcellus Midstream Assets for $190M

Last September UGI Corporation, one of Pennsylvania’s largest natural gas utility companies, completed a deal to buy Mountaineer Gas Company, one of West Virginia’s largest natural gas utility companies, for $540 million (see PA’s UGI Finally Completes Purchase of WV’s Mountaineer Gas Co.). UGI is on the hunt again. This time UGI is buying the Stonehenge Appalachia Midstream natural gas gathering system in Butler County, PA, for $190 million.

New NGL Pipeline in Clarion County, PA Ready to Go Online

We pride ourselves on keeping close tabs on the market. Yet somehow the construction of a smallish NGL (natural gas liquids) pipeline gathering system in western PA slipped by us. The pipeline is now built and the builder, Stonehenge Energy Resources, is putting the “finishing touches” on the Stonehenge Laurel – Clarion Pipeline System before it goes live. The pipeline will connect to Laurel Mountain Energy’s wells in Clarion County and collect up the NGLs (things like ethane and propane) from those wells and flow it neighboring Butler County where the NGLs will hitch a ride via Energy Transfer’s Revolution Pipeline system to Washington County, PA where they will get cleaned up and separated.
