PennEast Pipeline Hands Out Another $70,000 in “Grants”
Another round of “largesse” has just been served up from the PennEast Pipeline (see PennEast Payola? Buying Support One Community at a Time). Don’t get us wrong–the organizations receiving the latest round of $70,000 in “grants” from PennEast are exceptionally worthy organizations–volunteer fire departments, after school programs, etc. We just a have a problem with the timing of it all (see our thoughts here: Will Companies Continue Making Grants after Pipelines are Built?). Anti-drillers are an interesting (and hypocritical, perhaps schizophrenic) bunch, as we’ve pointed out many times. They eschew “dirty” fossil fuels, yet they use fossil fuels every day, from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to bed (and even while they’re sleeping). Take the anti-drillers in Pennsylvania. A story mainstream media refused to report was the fact that the PA State Democrat Party–the home of anti-drillers in the Keystone State–passed an official plank in their platform in June 2013 ahead of the election for governor that would place an ongoing moratorium on all new Marcellus Shale drilling in the state (see
There’s plenty of brainwashing of children going on in New Jersey. The brain washers include the Delaware Riverkeeper and the NJ Sierra Clubbers. Like good little mind-numbed robots, the members of the environmental club at Delaware Valley Regional High School in Hunterdon County, NJ invited Riverkeeper and the Sierra Club to present their dog and pony show bashing away at the PennEast pipeline–and apparently they lapped it right up. Note that no one from PennEast was invited to present the other side of the issue. It’s really important that children be brainwashed early on and not be exposed to opposing arguments (i.e. the truth)–so they can enjoy a lifetime of never having to think for themselves…
