Sec. of Interior Calls “Keep it in the Ground” Protesters “NaĂŻve”

Sally Jewell, Obama’s Secretary for the Dept. of the Interior, has not endeared herself with anti-drilling zealots who inhabit (infest?) her own Democrat Party. Last week Jewell told a reporter that the “keep it [i.e. fossil fuels] in the ground” movement is “naĂŻve” and there is NO WAY we will transition to 100% renewables any time soon. Oooo, harsh words! From an Obamadroid! One of the key issues, according to Jewell, is transportation. She said we don’t yet have solar-powered automobiles. And before someone embarrasses themselves to ask “What about electric cars?”…we’ll remind you that more than 70% of all electricity produced in the U.S. comes from burning fossil fuels. The electric in the battery of an electric car got there by burning coal and/or natural gas. If we “leave it in the ground” it won’t be long before you’re walking or riding horseback to get from point A to point B. You’d also have to give up television, radio and a host of other things powered by electricity. Unless you want to watch and listen when the sun is out. Here’s some tough words from Sec. Jewell for the crazies in her own party…

Crazy Bernie Sanders believes that we can just stop fracking for oil and gas, and turn off our nuclear plants, and sing Kumbaya to each other and usher in the nirvana age of Bernie renewable energy. What a dope. The people who support him are bigger dopes (sorry if you’re a Bernie supporter–but you need to wise up, quick). Below is a column that points out that shale gas and nuclear are the PROVEN path to a lower carbon emissions future–not reverting back to the stone ages with everyone parking their cars and turning down the thermostat. Carbon emissions in the U.S. have gone down faster than anywhere else in the world–BEFORE Obama’s idiotic Clean Power Plan and BEFORE any of the draconian measures cooked up by the out-of-control federal Environmental Protection Agency. Why? Because of the dramatic increase in the use of shale gas to power energy plants. And because nuclear powers energy plants. Here’s the story Crazy Bernie doesn’t want you think about (thinking not a requirement to be a Bernie supporter)…
We think it’s hard to overstate the power play being made by those who assembled in Paris earlier this month for the United Nations COP21 Climate Change Conference. As we previously wrote two days ago, Obama will never get Congress to ratify a treaty based on the agreement he signed in Paris (see
In December President Obama will travel to Paris to sign a climate treaty that forfeits the sovereignty of the United States of America–the country he swore to protect. The Paris climate treaty is another in a long line of attempts (like Kyoto) to convince stupid Americans to give up the right to control their own country and destiny–to sell ourselves out and let non-American, un-elected socialists from other countries determine how we will live in the future. They use the bogeyman myth of global warming to do it. They are all aiming to commit mass energy suicide by outlawing fossil fuels–but it won’t work if we don’t play along. We pray Congress stops this madness, but now we despair. You see, big business is in bed with big government and funds the political ruling class in Washington and in return the politicians pass laws favorable to them. Some 81 of the biggest big businesses (who contribute heavily to Congress and receive preferential treatment in return) have signed on to a pact to support Obama’s climate madness. They actually want him to sign the treaty that gives up our national sovereignty. Without these 81 big businesses (full list below) you literally could not live–from Walmart to Hershey to Nike to Apple to Google to Kellogg’s to American Express…the list goes on. Sadly, even some in our own industry have signed on, including Invenergy. Shame on them. If we were to boycott them (as should happen) we’d have to live like hermits in the wilderness. No one can live without the goods and services provided by this list of 81 mega corporations. And each and every one of them have sold us out. It’s truly a sad and depressing day…
There is no escaping the fact that when a group of hardened socialists get together, bad things happen. Witness the meeting called the G7 that took place in Germany yesterday. The assembled “leaders” of seven of the world’s biggest economies, including Barack H. Obama, agreed to commit their respect countries to committing economic suicide–i.e., ending the use of fossil fuels by the end of this century. By the middle of this century (35 years from now), they aim to reduce burning fossil fuels by “40 to 70 percent in the 2010 global emission levels of the greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.” What happens when, by 2050, everyone figures out that mankind burning fossil fuels actually doesn’t cause so-called global warming? The threat of global warming is yet another sham, another way to convince people to willingly give up their freedom so so-called smart people will “save them” from themselves. It’s sick…
Earth Day was celebrated in 192 countries around the world yesterday, including the U.S. We celebrate old Mother Earth here at MDN HQ each and every day. We love this dirt ball on which we live. An MDN reader and friend sent us a link to a Youtube video that properly celebrates and provides context for Earth Day (watch it below). To properly celebrate Earth Day, you need to include a celebration of fossil fuels–which have done more to clean up the earth than any other factor. Yes, you read that right. Fossil fuels are the reason we have cleaner air, cleaner water and live longer than ever. So today, one day late, we celebrate “setting fire to corpses of animals and plants unearthed from 400 million-year-old cemeteries”–which is how anti-driller Sandra Steingraber describes fossil fuels…
Yesterday Dominion, a huge natural gas and electric utility as well as a midstream company, announced plans to build the State of Virginia’s largest natural gas powered electric generating plant–in Greensville County, VA. (By the way, Dominion won the Award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility at the Northeast Oil & Gas Awards on Wednesday in Pittsburgh. Well done!) The $1 billion project will produce 1,600 megawatts of electricity using combined-cycle technology–enough electricity to power 400,000 homes. Dominion will use Marcellus Shale gas to power the plant, provided by Williams’ Transco pipeline. The plant will also be fed by a second Marcellus Shale pipeline–Dominion’s own Atlantic Coast Pipeline, a $5 billion, 550-mile pipeline slated to run from West Virginia through Virginia and into to North Carolina (see
Here’s one weird and twisted bedtime story: Once upon a time there was a filthy Big Tobacco company. Big Tobacco hooked up with a wealthy (and equally filthy) Big Oil company and they had a baby. And the baby was…….solar panels?? Yep. Philip Morris, one of the largest cigarette manufacturers in the world has contracted with Dominion, one of the biggest utility/midstream companies in the Marcellus/Utica region, to install 8,000 solar panels at the Philip Morris facility in Chesterfield County, VA so they can make more cigs. It will be the largest solar installation to date in the state of Virginia. The only problem here is that the “bad guys” (Big Tobacco and Big Oil) are the heroes by installing solar instead of using natural gas. This is a real dilemma for the anti-drilling/anti-pipeline gang in the Old Dominion State. It may cause a brain hemorrhage…
