Big Banks Object to Being Outed by WV as Fossil Energy Haters
All six Big Banks (and investment firms) on the West Virginia blacklist of companies pressuring investors to avoid fossil energy companies are objecting to being included on the WV blacklist. One month ago WV State Treasurer Riley Moore sent a letter to six big banks/investment firms alerting them they are about to be added to the state’s “blacklist” for violating policies by not investing or doing business with fossil fuel companies (see WV Threatens 6 Banks for Breaking State Anti-Fossil Fuel Law). The dirty six had 30 days to respond. All six (named below) responded by claiming they don’t hate fossil fuels. Liars.

Since 2013 anti-fossil fuel zealots–people with an irrational hatred of fossil fuels–have tried to ban drilling under (not on) public parks in Allegheny County, PA (near Pittsburgh). In January of this year, County Councilor Bethany Hallam, a committed anti-fossil fuel fanatic (who herself uses fossil energy every day) introduced yet another resolution to ban fracking underneath county parks, which would potentially deny an important revenue stream to the county (see
Last year Big Green lobbyists using the City of Oberlin, Ohio contested the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) decision to approve the Enbridge/DTE Energy NEXUS pipeline, a $2 billion, 255-mile pipeline from the Ohio Utica Shale into Michigan that’s been flowing for years connecting to a pipeline that exports some of the gas into Canada (see
Plum Boro (Allegheny County, PA) officials and environmental leftist groups (backed by Big Green foreign money) are gearing up to oppose Plum’s second wastewater injection well with smears and lies. A long-fought-over wastewater injection well in Plum finally opened for business in mid-2021, having overcome all sorts of smears and slanders and lawsuits by the enviro-left (see
Mike Rowe is a TV host, writer, narrator, producer, actor, and spokesman. He is perhaps best known for the Discovery Channel show Dirty Jobs, running for eight seasons, ending in 2012 (but recently revived in 2022). Rowe has a lot of fans. One of them wrote him a letter after seeing Rowe appear in a commercial for the Oklahoma Energy Resource Board (OERB). She proceeded to lecture him on his ignorance that we must dump fossil energy in the next 12 years or we’re all toast. Sound familiar? Rowe, in his inimitable style, writes back and kindly, gently, with his verbal hand around her shoulder, proceeds to obliterate her arguments.
Hundreds of climate cultists marched on the New Jersey State Capitol last Thursday to demand Gov. Phil Murphy deny permits to any future project that involves the burning of fossil fuels. Here’s what we noticed about the picture of the protesters. Every one of them was wearing clothes made from plastics (fossil fuels), wearing sneakers and shoes made, in part, from plastics (fossil fuels), holding up signs made from plastic (fossil fuels), wearing hats made from plastic fibers (fossil fuels), and holding phones made, in part, from plastics (fossil fuels). Does the average citizen who is not brainwashed by the climate cult see the rank hypocrisy of these people? We sure hope so.
Last Thursday U.S. Secretary of Energy Jennifer M. Granholm (not the brightest bulb in the pack) led an in-person meeting with CEOs and executives of seven major U.S. oil companies at the U.S. Dept. of Energy headquarters in Washington, D.C. Granholm kicked off the meeting by spouting the same lie the rest of the Biden administration repeats ad naseum: Putin is to blame for high gasoline prices. That is a complete fabrication. While Putin’s actions have led to something of an increase in worldwide oil and gasoline prices, the main reason for high prices here at home is Granholm and other Bidenistas who have trashed talked fossil energy from DAY ONE. They are the ones to blame and at fault.
President Joe Biden is getting grumpy and thin-skinned in his old age. He thinks oil drillers and refineries should get up and tap dance on cue when he says so, even though he wants to bankrupt them and put them out of business a few years down the road. Leftwing media is catching on that the Bidenistas can’t demand more output now, requiring investments in the billions, while sending the loud message the same companies will be out of business in a few years as renewable nirvana takes hold (see
Columbia Gas, a subsidiary of Canada-based TC Energy (formerly TransCanada), wants to build a tiny 3.37-mile, 8-inch pipeline under the Potomac River from Maryland to West Virginia. The Eastern Panhandle Expansion, as it is called, is being blocked by the lefties in Maryland (see
