Big Green Groups Launch Website to Pressure Gov. Wolf to Whack O&G
Even though Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf is already one of the most liberal governors in the country who delights in screwing with the Marcellus Shale industry in his state, some truly rabid leftists don’t think he’s doing enough to ruin the shale industry. A rogues gallery of the worst of the worst–including the PA Clean Air Council, Earthworks, Clean Water Action, and the Environmental Defense Fund–launched a website this week specifically aimed at pressuring Gov. Wolf to adopt methane rules so severe it completely strangles the Marcellus Shale industry into stopping.

Last Friday the owner of the Glen Riddle Station Apartment complex in Delaware County, PA convinced a weak county judge to order the release of emails between officials in Middletown Township and Energy Transfer, owner of the Mariner East pipeline system. The Glen Riddle apartment complex owner is hoping he can find some minor, obscure statement in the letters to reignite opposition to finishing the third and last Mariner East pipeline that runs across his property. How selfish.
In October 2020 the Sisters of the Corn (our name for a group of leftist nuns in Lancaster County, PA) filed yet another frivolous lawsuit against Williams over a pipeline that crosses their land–a pipeline (Atlantic Sunrise) that has been up and running safely for years (see 
EQT CEO Toby Rice laid the blame for the developing world energy crisis, particularly Europe’s lack of access to natural gas, at the feet of radical environmentalists. If not for the radicals and their constant frivolous lawsuits blocking pipelines and LNG export facilities, such infrastructure would already have been built and would be providing abundant, cheap, clean-burning Marcellus/Utica natural gas to other regions of the U.S. and to Europe.

Looks like the union bosses, who never suffer as the rank and file do, have been bought off by a band of sleazy Democrats in Congress. A group of Dem Senators, including the bumbling Sen. Bob Casey from Pennsylvania and the shameful Sherrod Brown from Ohio, have introduced a bill laughingly called the “American Energy Worker Opportunity Act” to substitute low-wage government welfare for high-paying jobs in the fossil fuel industry. Metaphorically the bill says “Here’s a Yugo to replace your Chevy Tahoe, now sit down, shut up, and be happy with it–because your sacrifice saves the planet.” Will rank and file union members actually fall for it? Will they trade $40/hour jobs in the oil and gas industry for minimum wage jobs installing solar panels plus food stamps? That’s the deal on offer from the Dems.
You could see it coming for the past year or more. Free speech is under attack in the United State. The Marxists at Google, Inc. are now full-on, anti-First Amendment. Yesterday as Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro falsely accused Energy Transfer (ET) of “crimes” while building the Mariner East 2 (ME2) pipeline, another bit of news about ME2 played out in the state’s court system. The PA Supreme Court agreed to hear a case in which several Big Green groups and a long-time anti-fossil fueler are demanding ET pay them back for legal fees in a lawsuit initiated by them against ET, a lawsuit they ultimately lost. Talk about arrogant.
