Town Rejects Permit to Drill Shale Well at Pittsburgh Steel Mill
In June MDN told you that the East Pittsburgh Borough Zoning Board, bullied by anti-fossil fuel radicals, had revoked a permit allowing a series of Marcellus Shale wells to be drilled on the property of U.S. Steel Corp.’s Edgar Thomson steel mill, the oldest still-operating steel mill in the country (see Town Revokes Permit to Drill Shale Well at Pittsburgh Steel Mill). The Zoning Board voted last Thursday 3-2 against an appeal by the driller to reissue the revoked permits. The driller has promised to take it to court.

What more can we say? For those who mistakenly (stubbornly) insist that Biden couldn’t “really ban fracking,” last night sleepy/creepy Uncle Joe pledged to end the use of oil and fossil fuels and “transition away from the oil industry,” calling oil a “significant” polluter. Yes, he’s off his rocker. WAKE UP! If you work for or depend on the oil and gas industry, a vote for Joe Biden is a vote to end your job. It really is that simple. He is telling us he is coming for oil and gas jobs. PLEASE believe him.
The transition from energy freedom to energy Fascism (the forced abandonment of fossil fuels) is happening far faster than anyone thought possible. Never in our lifetime did we believe Americans would willingly choose Communism and Fascism over American freedom, yet that’s what is happening and will be accelerated under a Joe Biden administration (perish the thought).

Last Friday the clowns did it again for the umpteenth time–slapping a “temporary” order blocking construction because the anti-America, Russia-backed Sierra Club filed yet another frivolous lawsuit against the project.
A newly published paper by researchers with Harvard University tried its best to make a connection between fracking and high levels of radiation–and failed. You won’t know that by reading biased media accounts of the study nor by reading comments from so-called experts reporting on the findings. But when you read the study itself (below), the inescapable conclusion is that Harvard researchers didn’t prove a darned thing, other than there’s no real threat to human (or animal) health from air emissions coming from fracked oil and gas wells.

Based on the suspect testimony of a “whistleblower,” the radical Clean Air Council (CAC) has filed a notice of its intent to sue Sunoco Pipeline claiming the company prevented professional geologists working on the project from properly inspecting and investigating environmental conditions, including subsidence, near the pipelines. A group of anti-fossil nutters who devoted themselves to blocking Marcellus/Utica drilling around the Ambridge Reservoir have turned their attention to the Shell ethane cracker plant in Beaver County. They wanted to stop the cracker from getting built, but given the plant is now 70% built and it’s a 100% guarantee it will get done and go online, the nutters have turned their attention to aggressive monitoring of the plant and the pollution, they say, that will come from it.
