Energy Group Says It’s Time to Rein in FERC’s Glick
From the beginning of Richard “Dick” Glick’s tenure at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), we’ve pointed out that Glick votes against every single new pipeline project that comes before him based on cockamamie global warming excuses. Glick took over as Chairman of FERC under dementia Joe Biden. Earlier this year Glick tried to permanently enshrine global warming considerations as a requirement to approve all new pipeline projects (see FERC Democrats Ram Thru Global Warming Policy for Pipe Decisions). Under extraordinary pressure from just about everyone (both Republicans and Democrats), a month later he backed off (see FERC’s Glick Does “Abrupt About-Face” on New Global Warming Regs). But it’s only a temporary retreat. Glick is still using his power to oppose pipeline projects. Power The Future, a national nonprofit organization that advocates for American energy jobs, says it’s time to rein in Glick and others in the Biden administration who are holding back American energy.

A group of 16 delusional anti-Americans who serve in Congress, including Alexandria “Occasional-Cortex” Ocasio-Cortez and Adam “Shifty” Schiff, sent a letter to more than a dozen large insurance companies in an attempt to stop the companies from underwriting any new fossil energy projects. All in the name of mythical global warming.
Anything that aids or assists fossil energy in becoming “cleaner” and “better” for the environment is now a target of the irrational left in this country. It’s quite comical to behold. In an act of intentional suicide, a misguided anti-fossil fueler from Colorado sat down in front of the U.S. Supreme Court at 6:30 pm on so-called Earth Day (Apr 22) and set himself on fire, killing himself. Mainstream media like the (Dis)Associated Press are attempting to pass it off as some sort of Buddhist ritual of “self-immolation”–something noble, even laudable, instead of what it was–the act of a disturbed mind, someone driven crazy by brainwashing from the radical environmental movement.
You know how Big Banks have gone woke left, threatening to defund, divest, and refuse to loan money to oil and natural gas companies due to pressure from a small, vocal minority on the environmental left? Big Banks are now facing their worst nightmare: The oil and gas industry is making enough money, generating enough free cash flow, that it can walk away from loans from Big Banks. Not content to prosecute years-old accidents as “crimes” for the shale industry in his zeal to attack fossil energy, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, a vicious radical running for governor this November, is now targeting mom and pop conventional drillers too. Specifically, he is investigating conventional drillers for spreading non-toxic brine on PA’s dirt roads in the summertime, a legal practice in the Keystone State (at least it was legal until last December), looking to prosecute someone, anyone, to grab another headline and stoke his radicalized base of supporters.
The sham “environmental” group Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), a litigation factory for Big Green leftist radicals, published (bought) themselves a “study” in the journal Nature Communications attacking conventional oil and gas wells. The so-called study says older conventional oil and gas wells that produce small amounts (less than 15 barrels of oil or the equivalent amount of gas a day), which represent only 6% of America’s total oil and gas production, contribute 50% of the country’s fugitive methane emissions.
In a new attack from the Bidenistas, the haughty John F. Kerry (the definition of a D.C. swamp dweller) threatened the entire natural gas industry in an interview yesterday with his fellow lefties at Bloomberg. The uber-arrogant Kerry put the natural gas industry “on notice” that it has a maximum of 10 years to figure out how to trap every last molecule of escaping methane and every last molecule of carbon dioxide post-combustion–or the industry will suffer a total and sudden death. The political intelligentsia will demand the execution of natgas (maybe even those who extract and flow it) no later than 10 years from now. According to Kerry, this is how it works in Amerika, land of the enslaved and home of the coward.

Although a number of publicly-traded oil and natural gas companies have gone along with so-called ESG (environmental, social, and governance) programs and have pledged to reduce their so-called carbon footprint by X percentage by Y date, apparently O&G companies are not genuflecting far enough or fast enough for Big Green Nazis like Bloomberg. The latest laughable tactic we’ve noticed is that Bloomberg has taken to carbon-shaming, you know, like fat-shaming–the use of ridicule and bullying as a pressure tactic to imply a person isn’t “enough” because of their weight (or race, or economic status, or carbon emanations). Leftists like Bloomberg “News” are so predictable–they always fall into the same tired routines. Are oil and gas companies not dancing to your tune?
