INGAA Says Biden’s Words and Actions re NatGas Don’t Match
There are some who actually believed Joe Biden when he was a candidate running for president, when Biden talked a good game about natural gas (we were not among them). Some believe President Biden now when he calls for more natural gas production to help Europe (we are not among them). But when you look at what Biden has and is saying, and then look at his administration’s policies, you get two completely different pictures. That’s the conclusion INGAA (the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America) comes to in a recent column that appears in (strangely) the left-leaning Utility Dive.

Every “game” comes to an end when play must stop and a winner, and a loser, are declared. If you watch basketball you know that the final couple of minutes can last what seems like a lifetime. One team, up by 2 or 3 points, gains possession of the ball and they are in the lead. What do they do? Play keep-away. Run the clock down so the opponent can’t score to tie or pull ahead. What does the opponent do? Try to foul the person with the ball, or call for a time-out, in order to stop the clock and (hopefully) when the ball is thrown in and play resumes, regain possession and score. In a sense, that’s what is happening with the 94% complete Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) project, a 303-mile pipeline from West Virginia to southern Virginia. Right now anti-American Big Green groups have possession of the ball (having co-opted leftist judges) and they are ahead by one point, hoping to end the game by running out the clock. Will they succeed?
Yesterday Joe Biden delivered an address from the White House to talk about inflation. He blamed the high price of gasoline (and diesel fuel) on: (1) Vladimir Putin, (2) oil companies price gouging, and (3) Republicans who refuse to sign on to so-called renewables. He’s wrong on all three counts, but that’s another post for another time. Our point is that Biden continues to say he wants more oil production here at home to address the problem of high gasoline prices. Yet his actions disprove the words coming from his mouth (i.e. he’s lying). Biden and his administration continue to aggressively try to cut, reduce, and even block new permits and drilling on publicly-owned land. Some 25% of the oil production in the U.S. comes from wells on publicly-owned land. And yes, there is a tie-in with the Marcellus/Utica on this issue.
The editorial writers at the Wall Street Journal have taken notice of something MDN has been trumpeting for more than four years: The same three Democrat judges who sit on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit keep killing U.S. energy projects. Specifically, they’re prejudiced against natural gas pipeline projects. We’re talking about Judge Stephanie Thacker, appointed by Barack Hussein Obama; Judge James Wynn, appointed by Barack Hussein Obama; and Chief Judge Roger Gregory, appointed by William Jefferson Clinton. These three leftwing judges find the smallest, nitpicky things to use as an excuse to block the completion of the 94% completed, 303-mile Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP). Enough!

Pennsylvania State Sen. Gene Yaw has been a champion in the fight to defeat Gov. Tom Wolf’s hideous carbon tax, otherwise known as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI). Wolf is trying to force PA to join over the objections of a majority of state legislators. In his latest missive about RGGI, Yaw connects some dots that need to be connected–between Russian money funding Big Green groups, and the groups using that money to lobby, influence, and litigate in an effort to force PA to join RGGI. It’s an effort to force PA to use less fossil energy. Clearly, RGGI is anti-fossil fuel. We would argue, as does Yaw in this excellent editorial below, that RGGI is also anti-American.

A group of 16 delusional anti-Americans who serve in Congress, including Alexandria “Occasional-Cortex” Ocasio-Cortez and Adam “Shifty” Schiff, sent a letter to more than a dozen large insurance companies in an attempt to stop the companies from underwriting any new fossil energy projects. All in the name of mythical global warming.
Anything that aids or assists fossil energy in becoming “cleaner” and “better” for the environment is now a target of the irrational left in this country. It’s quite comical to behold. If there’s a new technology that makes fossil fuel emissions cleaner (healthier for the climate and humans), the left is against it. They demand their way–total renewables and NOTHING ELSE–or they viciously attack and oppose it–no matter how worthy and beneficial. We previously told you how the left is turning against hydrogen energy (see
In an act of intentional suicide, a misguided anti-fossil fueler from Colorado sat down in front of the U.S. Supreme Court at 6:30 pm on so-called Earth Day (Apr 22) and set himself on fire, killing himself. Mainstream media like the (Dis)Associated Press are attempting to pass it off as some sort of Buddhist ritual of “self-immolation”–something noble, even laudable, instead of what it was–the act of a disturbed mind, someone driven crazy by brainwashing from the radical environmental movement.
You know how Big Banks have gone woke left, threatening to defund, divest, and refuse to loan money to oil and natural gas companies due to pressure from a small, vocal minority on the environmental left? Big Banks are now facing their worst nightmare: The oil and gas industry is making enough money, generating enough free cash flow, that it can walk away from loans from Big Banks. Goodbye and good riddance.
Not content to prosecute years-old accidents as “crimes” for the shale industry in his zeal to attack fossil energy, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, a vicious radical running for governor this November, is now targeting mom and pop conventional drillers too. Specifically, he is investigating conventional drillers for spreading non-toxic brine on PA’s dirt roads in the summertime, a legal practice in the Keystone State (at least it was legal until last December), looking to prosecute someone, anyone, to grab another headline and stoke his radicalized base of supporters.
