PA DEP Issues Interim “Final” Shale-Drilling-is-Racist Regulation
On August 17, the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (DEP) posted an Interim Final Environmental Justice Policy to guide DEP’s permit application reviews and outreach efforts in environmental justice areas throughout the Commonwealth. New Environmental Justice (or EJ) policies are a euphemism for regulations that prohibit drilling and pipelines built in neighborhoods of color or economic hardship zones because, says the left, those people can’t fight them. It is a uniquely dystopian and prejudiced view of the world. We call it “all shale drilling is racist” regulations. Completely repugnant. The DEP will publish their new anti-shale regs in the Pennsylvania Bulletin on September 16 and immediately implement them on the same day. Meaning the DEP will begin to slow or deny new permits for wells and pipelines as of that date–based on violating made-up EJ standards. We hope the Marcellus industry sues the DEP to stop it.

Yup. No more fossil fuel development in Big Sky Country unless you first obsequiously bow down and worship the GOD of Climate Change first, and pinky-swear promise you won’t emit any carbon dioxide or methane if you drill an oil or gas well. The decision came from an idiot judge who made his ruling while exhaling CO2 (violating his own edict). The judge finds that CO2 is evil. It’s burning up the earth. The new religion of Climate Change was just instituted by judicial fiat for all of Montana. (This would all be hilarious if not so tragic.)
No wonder our children are spaced out on anti-anxiety meds like Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, and Ativan. They are force-fed (brainwashed) with global warming hysteria in schools all day long. The media convinces their unthinking parents to believe the lie too. The narrative in schools and on the airways says if we don’t stop producing so much carbon dioxide (and fugitive methane) right now, TODAY, we’re all history. Mankind will kill itself in about 20 years by making the Earth unlivable. If you drive a gasoline car or use natural gas for heat and cooking, you’re killing Mom Earth. Many people who believe the lie have given up hope that there is a future. “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.” That’s the very old-but-made-new-again philosophy. Predictably, many are becoming unhinged, and some are even violent. Leftists are now concerned that maybe they’ve gone a bit too far with all of this “end of the world” stuff, and they’re beginning to walk it back.

Even though the radicalized left has been defeated in their attempts to block the 303-mile Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) project, they won’t go quietly (they never do). The liars of the left are trying to plant seeds of fear and doubt in the residents of West Virginia and Virginia that as soon as the remaining 6% of MVP pipe is buried in the ground and begins to flow, a piece of that newly installed pipeline will blow up because the pipe has been sitting above ground for years and the special epoxy coating that prevents corrosion has degraded by sitting in the sun. The AGA is one of the country’s premier natural gas associations. The AGA says its members “support the safe, reliable, affordable and sustainable delivery of natural gas to millions of Americans.” Although Eversource, the largest utility company in New England serving 4 million customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, provides its customers with electricity and natural gas, it has quit its membership in the AGA.
We guarantee that if an oil and gas company announced it was in the process of drilling 90 boreholes 700 feet deep (through the groundwater table) to extract oil and gas in the bastion of liberalism known as Massachusetts, the leftist mainstream media would have a stroke. There would be protests. There would be nutballs gluing themselves together in plastic PVC pipe in front of the drilling rigs to prevent drilling. The news would make the front page of the Boston Globe, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the LA Times. But if the same company drills 90 boreholes 700 feet deep and calls it “geothermal” … nothing. Not a peep from anyone. Even though geothermal pipes that run through the water table pump something far more dangerous than drilling mud. Bentonite (drilling mud) is the same stuff used in kitty litter and toothpaste. It’s completely non-toxic and safe if it leaks. On the other hand, geothermal systems pump antifreeze through pipes. Eversource, the largest utility company in Massachusetts, announced yesterday it is drilling 90 boreholes in Framingham, MA, and will pump dangerous antifreeze through it to heat local homes, businesses, and a community college. Where is the outrage?
